Week 2: Slowly but Surely!!

During the past week i have been working very hard on my website, i started navigating my way through Yola . I managed to change the background colour, change the font and font colour and also add images that i wanted on my website.
At the beginning of making this website it wasn't as easy as it sounds, i went about making my first few pages very slowly as i wanted it to be perfect and have no mistakes. In the tutorial i clarified with my peers to make sure i was on the right track and i showed them my website. I was glad that i asked them to take a look as i wanted to add hyperlinks to my contact page and i was unsure on how to do this! It was great that my peers could help me. This whole week i had been trying to work it out on my own, i even googled how to add a hyperlink but i found the instructions quite confusing for me.
Finally i feel that i have mastered how to add hyperlinks to my website, i am so happy!!!
I had originally made a page on my website for my blog, but then i realised that because Yola doesnt have its own blog as a part of the website i had to find a separate blogging technology. I was unsure of what one i should use so i looked on the toolbox link from the LMS and it gave a list of free blogging sites that i could possibly use. I ended up choosing BLOGGER. I signed up to the site and then i had to transfer what i had already written on my website to my own blog posts. I found this quite simple to do which was great.
I have now also added a hyperlink on my contact page so that anyone can access my blog when they click on it.

Things i would like to achieve this coming week are:
  • Finalising my Social Event Idea.
  • Start researching Social Networking platforms to present my Social Event.

 Overall i think i have had a successful week creating my website!!

Week 1: The Beginning!

-->

My thoughts after attending the first lecture was that this is going to be so easy!! After reading my unit guide and knowing that we were creating a website i was excited as this is something new for me.
I signed up to Yola as it seemed to be the site that everyone was using... so far it looked like i was going to breeze through creating this website!
BUT... i was wrong, i actually really struggled to figure out what i was doing and how to change the background etc. i am still yet to figure out how to do this!
As i was then struggling on what to actually include in my website i decided to look on the Technology Toolbox for Educators and that then gave me some insight in what to add into my e-portfolio.
All i have to do now is follow the marking criteria and then i would have completed my website :-)
Wish me luck!!!!
